Measurable snow is a rarity here in Charleston, SC. The last time was about 10 years ago when we had an inch or so. Back in 1989 we had about 6 inches.
So, when the snow started late yesterday it caused some excitement. By about 9pm we actually had some accumulation. (click photos for larger view)
This morning we enjoyed waking to a winter wonderland. I think I have next year's Christmas card!
By mid day it was melting which is a good thing because it was a heavy wet snow and we didn't want damage to any of our trees and plants.
We live in South Carolina so we don't have to deal with snow so it's a good thing that it's a rare event.
